CREPE FLOWERS

SPRING CREPE PAPER FLOWERS
INSTRUCTOR: LORI GANNI

Do you love flowers but hate to see them die? Are you a crafty person or avid gardener interested in making your own lifelike flowers? Ring in Spring with a class on making beautiful crepe paper flowers! Make a gift for Mother’s day that she will treasure for years!

In this Beginner workshop I will show you how to make the Parrot tulip and the Anemone, both stunning flowers. Pieces are cut from the Cricut Maker and we will put them together with wire and glue. I will show you how to make ruffles and stamens, the interior part of the flower, and decorate them with pastels for an even more realistic look. We will make some leaves to round out a small bouquet.

Remember when we were kids, and the crepe paper would rip and bleed? That is a thing of the past with high quality paper now available in many colors and weights. We will use heavy crepe paper from Germany which can be molded and shaped almost like a sculpture. Join us in this unique ‘make and take’ class and get started on your creative journey! Class size is limited so don’t hesitate.

MATERIALS
All materials are provided with your supply fee of $15, payable to your instructor at the start of class.

Lori has been painting since she was in grade school and has had wonderful mentors and teachers along the way, studying at John Herron School of Art, Art Institute of Atlanta, and Denver Art Student’s League. She believes everyone is an artist and encourages students to take chances and find their own style. Art is about expression and joy, not competition! She spends her free time with her husband, kids and grandkids or painting ‘plein air’ at many beautiful places in Colorado and New Mexico.
