DARE TO OIL PAINT! | LEVEL 2
INSTRUCTOR: PHIL LEAR

Take your oil painting to the next level in this intermediate class! It is recommended that you take our intro level of Dare to Oil Paint! first, or that you have equivalent experience.

This class will build on your oil painting skills and techniques. Students will focus on how to approach more challenging subjects in representational painting, such as employing color theory or rendering the human face. You are encouraged to bring in works in progress or new projects to dive into—everyone will have a chance to ask questions and try out new ideas!

MATERIALS
A sketchbook
4 8x10 canvases or panels
a few 11x14 and 16x20 canvases or canvas panels
palette or palette paper pad
odorless paint thinner/mineral spirits + a sealable container to hold it (glass jar or silicoil will work)
rags or paper towels
oil paints (white, yellow ochre, cad. red, crimson, burnt sienna, sap green, cobalt blue are suggested)
bristle brushes (make sure they are recommended for oil paint—not acrylic or watercolor): one large, one medium, and one small
