KNOT YOUR GRANDMA’S STITCH STUDIO:
FLOWERY THREADS!

In this one day work shop students will learn three embroidery stitches to create a flowery work of art!
If you have ever wished for a medium you could easily work with from the comfort of your couch, bundled in a blanket, while maybe bingeing your favorite series for the umpteenth time, then stitching is for you. Your instructor will guide you step by step on how, where, and when to use a variety of fundamental stitches to create your desired design. Depending on your amount of detail and speed you will leave class with a sweet complete stitch or a nearly finished piece. (Perfect for exercising your new skills on your couch!)
Hand embroidery—the art of decorative stitching—is also therapeutic, keeping your fine motor skills in tip top shape and allowing your mind to focus in the moment. Come embrace the winter season, slow down, and do knot miss this workshop!
Recommended for ages 21+. Feel free to bring a snack and your beverage of choice.
MATERIALS
All supplies will be provided for a small fee of $10, payable to your instructor at the start of class.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Jessica is a local mixed media artist working with acrylic and spray paint, embroidery thread, and other non-traditional materials. Her eclectic style incorporates elements of pop, illustration, modern kitsch, and contemporary fine craft. When she isn’t creating in her studio, Jess runs Events Programming at Cottonwood and tends the bar at First Friday, making her officially the most fun member of our staff!
