INSTRUCTOR: BEN BIRES
Follow along with Ben as he guides you through a painting from start to finish. Learn how to break down a landscape into simple steps using the appropriate brushes and techniques to piece it together like a puzzle. Each workshop will feature a different scene focusing on a variety of elements with the goal of finishing a painting by the end of the workshop.
MATERIALS
All materials supplied with a $20 fee due to your instructor at the start of class. You may also want to bring a smock or wear clothes that can get messy.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Ben’s encouraging style of teaching provides a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy a creative outlet. He’s all about bringing people together and having a good time while getting to know his students’ goals. He will push you out of your comfort zone and do whatever he can to make you a better painter. His love for the outdoors brought him and his wife to Colorado Springs in 2016, which led him to begin teaching landscape painting classes here at Cottonwood shortly after. A big fan of music, there’s always some good tunes playing in class to set the tone for a productive paint session. His loose painting style involves bold color balanced with dramatic brushstrokes that captures emotion and creates a sense of movement in his scenes.
